VGCS, theft, bribery among charges in monthly arrest roundup


LUKE LUKE A variety of charges ranging from possession of marijuana and bribery to burglary and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime composed the latest roundup of arrests in Wilkes County during June and late May. The listed arrests are taken from the limited information in arrest reports provided by local law enforcement officials, and no arrests are left out. An arrest does not imply guilt; criminal charges are merely accusations and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty and convicted. Bond and/or release notes contained in this report are as of June 28, 2017.

Eric Lindsey Luke, 47, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Land on June 12 and charged with possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. in Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCS), two counts; possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. VGCS for Schedule IV; possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes; possession of tools for the commission of crime; and possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. VGCS for methamphetamine. He was released on $120,200 bond.


FARR FARR Justin Tyler Farr, 24, of Martinez, Georgia, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper Delston Branch on May 27 and charged with endangering a child under 14 while driving under the influence; driving under the influence; possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. in VGCS for marijuana; possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes; and VGCS for cocaine. He was released on $50,400 bond.

Woodrow Steven Messer, 50, of Tignall was arrested on June 26, and charged with driving under the influence and speeding 26-30 miles per hour over. He was released on $1,826 bond.

Quintavious Collier, 25, of Thomson was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Robby Turner on June 26 and charged with false statements in matters within the jurisdiction of the state, and giving false information or false name. He was released on $8,700 bond.

Michael Bailey Weaghington, 21, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Robby Turner on June 26 and charged with a state probation violation. No release was noted.

Reco Martelli Ashmore, 34, of Rayle, was arrested by Peterson on June 21 and charged with a state probation violation. He was released after serving his sentence.

David Ricardo Jefferson, 24, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Edwards on June 24 and charged with a CSRA probation violation, driving while license withdrawn, and a windshield wiper violation. He was released on $1,894 bond.

George Ferrell, 73, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on June 23 and charged with disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $283 but no release was noted.

Rudolph Whimbush, 31, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Gene Amos on June 21 and charged with trespassing. Bond was set at $1,000 but no release was noted.

Donald Wilkes Saggus, 19, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Scott Langham on June 16 and charged with possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), and with a seat belt violation. He was released on $1,714 bond.

Nancy Ann Palmer, 42, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy John Rhodes on June 18 and charged with possession, manufacturing, distribution, etc. as Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCS); and with possession of drug-related objects. Bond was set at $28,700 but no release was noted.

James Anthony Rossi, 60, of Hull, Georgia, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Scott Langham on June 22 and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. He was released on $715 bond.

Rudolph Whimbush, 31, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Jackie Graves on June 16 and charged with disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $283 and he was released on his own recognizance.

Austen James Chapman, 18, of Tignall was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Neal Frankel and charged with driving with not license on person, too fast for conditions, driving under the influence, a seat belt violation, reckless driving, and failure to drive within a single lane. He was released on $3,320 bond.

William Andrew Bradford, 24, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnny Crookham on June 13 and charged with possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), fleeing or attempting to elude, and a CSRA probation violation. He was released on $3,174 bond.

Michael Shayne McAvoy, 29, of Crawfordville was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper Delston Branch on June 13 and charged with a CSRA probation violation, affixing a license plate with intent, open container in vehicle, no insurance, obstruction of an officer (two counts), improper backing, and leaving the scene of an accident. Bond was set at $32,315 but no release was noted.

Jason Tanner, 41, of Washington, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on June 14 and charged with contempt of court for child support. He was released to the court.

Javaris Terrez Campbell, 40, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper Delston Branch on June 21 and charged with speeding in a highway work zone, and possession of marijuana (misdemeanor). He was released on $1,192 bond.

Erik James Richardson, 36, of Crawford, Georgia, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Robby Turner on June 21 and charged with failure to appear. No release was noted.

Tavaris Keyonn Ramsey, 39, of Washington was arrested on June 20 and charged with theft by taking. He was released on $3,700 bond.

James Alan Kittle, 45, of Tignall, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Gene Amos on June 18 and charged with a state probation violation. He was released after serving his sentence.

Thomas Axll McCarty, 24, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Gene Amos on June 13 and charged with a state probation violation. No release was noted.

Audria Davidra Lee, 32, of Swansea, South Carolina, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper W.M. Callaway on June 8 and charged with driving under the influence (drugs), speeding 120 mph in a 55-mph zone, reckless driving, a headlight violation, failure to drive within a single lane, and giving false information or a false name. Bond was set at $3,700 but no release was noted.

James Griffin Jones, 47, of Tignall, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy John Rhodes on June 8 and charged with open container in vehicle, driving without a license, and an expired tag. He was released on $969 bond.

San Antonio Kenottress Dorsey, 42, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on June 9 and charged with bribery. He was released on $10,200 bond.

Mitchell Roger Johnson, 46, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Land on June 12 and charged with a state probation violation. No release was noted.

Tyrance Jarvarius Ashmore, 26, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Gaddy on June 6 and charged with bribery. He was released on $10,200 bond.

Marcus Nikia Turner, 23, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Robby Turner on June 6 and charged with a probation violation. No release was noted.

Ashley Marie Higgins, 28, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Land on June 5 and charged with a CSRA probation violation. No release was noted.

Kristin Leigh Bland, 26, of Thomson, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Hackney on June 7 and charged with driving under the influence (third offense), seat belt violation, failure to drive within a single lane, driving on the wrong side of the road, and reckless driving. She was released on $2,700 bond.

Juan Manuel Naranjo, 33, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Will Grier on May 25 and charged with failure to drive within a single lane, and driving without a license. He was released on $1,630 bond.

Walter Bernard Pettway, 70, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper Delston Branch on May 30 and charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), open container in vehicle, and failure to drive within a single lane. He was released on $1,966 bond.

Shirley Ann Warren, 46, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy D.J. King Jr. on June 3 and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. She was released on $715 bond.

Jonathan E. Johnson, 26, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on June 4 and charged with a CSRA probation violation. No release was noted.

Robert Allen Sherman, 39, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Turner on May 29 and charged with simple battery. He was released on $3,700 bond.

Kamille Lynn Adams, 29, of Anderson, South Carolina, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Robby Turner on May 26 and charged with theft by taking. Bond was set at $20,200 but no release was noted.

Travis Alexander Browner, 30, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Keith Lyons on May 28 and charged with criminal trespass, cruelty to children in the third degree, and simple battery. He was released on $12,200 bond.

Tinisha Chanea Walton, 24, of Tignall, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy D.J. King Jr. on May 29 and charged with criminal trespass to property, and two counts of obstruction of an officer (misdemeanor). She was released on $13,700 bond.

Zachary Tyler Halcame, 23, of Evans, Georgia, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper Delston Branch on May 27 and charged with possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. in VGCS (two counts); and possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes (two counts). He was released on $25,200 bond.

Jordan Deon Thompson, 18, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy D.J. King Jr. on May 29 and charged with aggravated child molestation. He was bound over to Superior Court with no bond.

Marcus Edward Bell, 33, of Crawfordville was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Land on May 26 and charged with a CSRA probation violation. No release was noted.

Marsha Yvonne Martin, 57, of Toccoa, Georgia, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper Delston Branch on May 28 and charged with open container in vehicle, failure to drive within a single lane, and driving under the influence. She was released on $2,138 bond.

Tavaris Joquez Ramsey, 17, of Tignall, was arrested on June 27 and charged with participation in criminal gang activity, possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes, obstruction of an officer, and burglary in the second degree. He is being held without bond.

Dorian Joseph Welborn, 17, of Washington was arrested on June 27 and charged with burglary in the second degree (two counts), and possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes. He was released on $25,200 bond.

Jaylan Tyquavius Maddox, 17, of Tignall was arrested on June 27 and charged with burglary in the second degree (two counts), and possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes. He was released on $25,200 bond.
