Mary Willis Summer Reading program to conclude July 25

The Summer Reading Program at the Mary Willis Library is coming to a close, but the fun isn’t over just yet.

Thursday, July 20, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. there will be a craft workshop for children ages four and older. The children will be making skyscrapers or other buildings out of clay to go along with the “Build a Better World” theme. Parents should register their children before the workshop as space is limited.

Friday, July 21, at 2 p.m. the library will be showing the Disney blockbuster film Moana.

The summer program concludes on July 25 during the awards celebration. From 10 a.m.-noon there will be games, a petting zoo, refreshments, and a showing of the new 2017 live action Beauty and the Beast.

Along with all the fun activities, children will be able to pick up their reading folders and prizes. Children who have read 10 books or more will receive a certificate, a McDonald’s coupon, a ticket to an Augusta Green Jackets game, and a certificate for a free book from the library.

The top reader in both the children’s and teens’ age groups will also be awarded a Kindle Fire Tablet.

“It’s sure to be a fun-filled final week of summer programs at the library!” Director Beth Miller exclaimed.
