Heather, Kheled Bentley feted at Jack and Jill Shower July 9

Heather and Kheled Bentley of Washington were entertained at a Jack and Jill Shower on Sunday afternoon, July 9, in the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church hosted by Peggy and Kevin Bentley, also of Washington.

An Underwater Mermaid theme was used in decorating for the baby shower to honor the upcoming arriving a baby girl Hadleigh Ann Bentley.

Food and gift tables were covered with Under the Sea Mermaid table covers and decorated with seashells and corals. Guests’ tables had aquamarine table covers, each with a centerpiece of potted silver mound plants resting in a base of sand and seashells. Draped within the plants were strands of pearls and baby mermaids.

Guests dined on turkey and ham crescent sandwiches, fresh-cut fruits with strawberry fruit dip, a multi-colored pasta salad made by Heidi and Bill Lucas, and Rosalyn Carter’s cheese ring made by Rebecca Pollock. A chocolate cake with white whipped topping was decorated with a stork and a banner that read “Baby Hadleigh.”

A votive candle wrapped in lavender tulle with the instructions to light and send a blessing when little Hadleigh is born were made by Rebecca Pollock and presented as favors to the guests.

Among those joining the hosts and guests of honor were her parents, Heidi and Bill Lucas, and sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Ricky Klekotka and family, all of Thomson; his sister and brotherin law, Lorien and Josh Medeiros; and aunts and uncles, Rebecca and Douglas Pollock of Washington, Audrey and Mark Bentley and family of Cadley, and Pat and Bret Bentley and family of Thomson, Elaine and Ted Bentley of Sylvania, Jackie and Dan Gray and Paula Romdall of Anderson, Indiana.
