God’s plan of salvation is finished

(Hebrews 10: 15-25)

After Jesus died on the cross and then resurrected from the dead, God gave to those who will believe and repent of their sins in the name of Jesus Christ by the power of God’s Holy Spirit, eternal life when they die their physical death.

Through Jesus, God seals the covenant with us by the Holy Spirit of God who will make us capable of becoming spiritual when we die. God says, “Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” (verses 16 & 17)

Once we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Saviour it will be impossible for us to sin and not know it because God’s Holy Spirit lives in our hearts. He will compel us to repent afresh and anew, within ourselves, and seek for God’s power to overcome our sins. We do not need to do our salvation experience all over again.

Verse 18 says, “Now where remission of this is, there is no more offering for sin.” God has given Jesus once on the cross, and because we accept Jesus to be our Saviour, God’s salvation experience for us through our acceptance and belief in Jesus as our Saviour is complete by God’s Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus when we receive forgiveness for our sins.

Then we are told, “Having therefore brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh. And having a high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering.” (verses 10-23)

We must understand that we are children of God because of our belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and God’s lamb sacrifice for our sins. We are made pure by the blood of Jesus shed while dying on the cross for us. Our hearts are made pure by our faith and acceptance of Jesus as Saviour led by the Holy Spirit of God. Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together as we see God’s day approaching. (verses 24 & 25)
