We must remain faithful in worship

(Hebrews 10: 26-39)

The New Testament tells us all about Jesus and why He came to this earth. God gives to us His witness of how much He loves us and why He sent Jesus to this earth. When we hear the New Testam ent mes- sage we must respond to the message of God and accept Jesus to be our Saviour. If we hear the message and reject it, there is no other way to be saved.

“For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking judgement and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” (verses 26 & 27)

In these two verses God is warning us how dangerous it is for anyone to have a closed mind and heart toward Jesus Christ as Saviour.

We do not know when our physical death will come, old or young. The Bible says, “Today is the day for our salvation.”

Faith in Jesus as Saviour is our only way to salvation. God has done everything He can do to save us, by sending Jesus, His only Son, to die on the cross and be raised to life again.

He that despised Moses’ law in the Old Testament died without mercy under two or three witnesses; how much more will it be to neglect God’s plan of salvation through Jesus. (verses 28 & 29)

The Lord will judge His people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God without Jesus, God’s only begotten Son as our Saviour. (verse 31) Faith in Jesus as our Saviour is the only way. God has done everything He can do to save us from our sins.

Jesus went to the cross and died for us and then God sent to us His Holy Spirit after Jesus resurrected from the dead to bring to us God’s message of salvation from our sins and a new birth by the Holy Spirit of God. All we have to do is repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Saviour.

We must not cast away the confidence God gives to us by His Holy Spirit to accept Jesus as our Saviour and be baptized in the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. This completes our salvation experience. “We are not of them who draw back unto perdition, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” (verse 39)
