Reading program raises money for W-WPS

Washington-Wilkes Primary School completed a one-week program to raise money for school activities, materials, and projects. Reading for Education packets were sent home for students and parents to complete mail-in postcards. Students received daily prizes based on returned completed booklets. All students who participated in the program were entered into a drawing on Friday, September 1, for a chance to win a Minion robot. Hadlie Orr, a first-grade student in Beth Lamar’s classroom, was the lucky winner. Pictured with Hadlie and her Minion is W-WPS Principal Janet Pharr.
