Reynolds Circle meets Sept. 5 at the home of Nita Latimer

The Reynolds Circle of Washington Presbyterian Church Women met Tuesday afternoon, September 5, at the home of Nita Latimer.

Mrs. Latimer served Sea Salt Caramel Heath Bar Cake with ice cream, tea, and coffee.

Members welcomed new member Becky Slaton.

Lisa Luken, presiding for Mary Harris, opened the meeting and Cheryl Young gave the devotional and prayer.

Praise for special joys and concerns for others within the church family were remembered.

Announcements included events surrounding “Love Washington” during the weekend of September 15-16, organized by Wilkes Ministers United; “Movie in the Manse” on Sunday, September 17, at 2 p.m. with the showing of “The Case for Christ” with an invitation to all the community to attend; Fall Services September 24-25 with a covered dish supper before services at 6 p.m. on September 24 and a soup supper before services at 6 p.m. on September 25. Other announcements told of Rev. Glen Kohlhagen’s presentation of “Hospice Matters: Making the Last Days Count” at the OLLI meeting on September 25 at 2 p.m. at the Parish House of the Episcopal Church, and the WPC “Lunch Bunch” lunch gathering September 27 at the China Restaurant.

Nita Latimer led the discussion of “Lesson 1: ‘Creation on the World-Genesis1:1-2:2’” in this year’s new study “Genesis 1-11 – Creation, Sin, and the Nature of God.”

Present for the meeting were Nita Latimer, Lisa Luken, Becky Slaton, Norwood Strother, Anne Wheeler, and Cheryl Young.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 3, at the home of Anne Wheeler.
