Young at Heart members enjoy fellowship at home of Dot Huff

Dot Huff entertained members of the Young at Heart of First United Methodist Church at her home on Sims Street on Thursday evening, September 21.

With a “come as you are” request and “don’t bring a thing” order, everyone arrived with high expectations for an evening of fun and good conversation as Mrs. Huff conjured up a bounty of culinary delights in her “Martha Stewart Kitchen.”

Along with lots of laughter and fellowship, everyone enjoyed Omaha steak burgers with all the trimmings, baked beans from the hostess’s “secret” recipe, tangy coleslaw, chips and dip, salsa, desserts of Bundt pound cake, chocolate delight, and “real” banana pudding, and tea and lemonade.

Assisting Mrs. Huff in the kitchen were Master Chef Extraordinaire Tom Holley, and his able apprentice Bill Smith.

Attending the festivities with Mrs. Huff and her two assistants were Karen Holley, Linda Smith, Alice and Buddy Lindsey, Carolyn Reynolds, Pauline Bell, Wanda White, Ann and Lewis Cook, Diane and Bill Jordan, Kay and Ralph Bray, Shay Harris, Joan Drinkard, Laura and Dave Toburen, Shelley Warrenfells, Patsy Partridge, Clark Willingham, Thomas Hall, and Cliff Hargrove, chauffeur.
