Madeline Reeves guest of honor at bridal shower on Sept. 23

The home of Donna Fennell in Millen was the scene of a bridal shower honoring her stepdaughter, Madeline Reeves of Washington, on Saturday, September 23. Co-hostess for the shower was Miss Reeves’ aunt, Millie Reeves, also of Millen.

Miss Reeves, bride-elect of Greg Callaway, also of Washington, wore a white blouse and patterned red and blue skirt complemented by a lovely corsage of daisies.

Guests enjoyed a yogurt parfait bar, fresh fruit, bacon, egg, and cheese English muffins, delicious Georgia pastries, and grits casserole. The wedding china and silver used in serving had special meaning to Miss Reeves and family as it belonged to the bride-elect’s grandmother, Esther Lee Reeves.

A special gift to the bride-elect was a handmade garter set made by her sister, Mary Kate Dauler of Woodville, using fabric from one of their grandmother’s favorite dresses fulfilling the wedding tradition of having “something old” and “something blue.”

The hostesses were presented fallthemed towels and candles and the mothers of the bride-elect and prospective bridegroom were presented “Mum of the Bride” and “Mum of the Groom” plants.

Among the special guests attending were the bride-elect’s mother, Liz Spooner of Rayle; the prospective bridegroom’s mother, Tonya Callaway of Washington, and his grandmothers, Linda Aycock of Tignall, and Pat Callaway of Washington.
