Classic quilt goes to Tina McLeroy

The ladies of the Classic South Quilt Guild made individual quilt blocks that Theresa Maendele put together to make the top for this Underground Railroad quilt. Donna Taylor then quilted and bound it. The Quilt Guild meets every third Friday at 2 p.m. in Wesley Hall at Washington First United Methodist Church on the corner of Spring and Liberty Streets.

Tina McLeroy bought three tickets at Sharon Shenanigans in April and her name was drawn from about 600 tickets at Mule Day last Saturday at Callaway Plantation. She was excited to win but was not present for a picture so her brother, Tim Wright, was there and scooped it up for her. Later she said she had a hard time getting it from him because he loved it too. Tina said she’d forgotten how beautiful it was since seeing it back in April.
