Mora, Chafin attend FCCLA Fall Leadership Rally in Perry

Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Early Childhood Education teacher Lauren Chafin and student Lykah Mora attended the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Fall Leadership Rally in Perry, October 11.

“It was a great event to get you excited about FCCLA and explain the importance of it in our school and community,” Chafin said.

The event began with the introduction of officers, followed by the FCCLA pledge. After motivational speakers talked about benefits of FCCLA, an awards ceremony was held. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the Georgia National Fair.

“It was a fun experience and I learned many things,” Mora said.

Founded in 1945, FCCLA is an in-school student organization that has family as its central focus. The organization helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and social issues through family and consumer science education.

Business Communications is a course in the Business and Technology pathway within the Georgia Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education (CTAE) department. Students in this course practice a variety of written and oral communications skills in the business setting.
