Competition Cheerleaders tops in Class A at Spirit Spectacular

The Washington-Wilkes Tiger Varsity Cheerleaders won first place in Class A and received their best scores of the season at the 2017 War Eagle Spirit Spectacular. Competing against GMC, the squad traveled to Putnam County High School last Saturday, October 28, for the event. Also, flyer Shanyia Cain, backspot Makiah Tanner, and bases Maddie Gunter and Tycoriah Danner represented Washington-Wilkes in a lib-off competition in which every school competed to see who could hold the longest liberty stunt. The W-W cheerleaders earned third place behind Jefferson City (second place) and Lakeside (first place).

This Saturday, November 4, the cheerleaders will travel to Ola High School to compete against 13 other Class A Public schools in the sectionals competition. The competition starts at noon but the W-W squad’s floor time has not yet been announced.

The top eight teams from there will advance to the state competition on November 10 at the Columbus Civic Center.
