The next “Let Us Pray Together” prayer service at Trinity Baptist Church is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, at 3 p.m. Prayer is key. “A family that prays together, stays together.”

Hilliard Station Baptist Church will celebrate its eighth annual Family and Friends Day program on Sunday, November 19, at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Paul Hull of Heard’s Chapel Baptist Church will be the speaker for the occasion. Dinner will be served.

On Sunday, November 12, at 2 p.m., New Ford Baptist Church will celebrate the 17th anniversary of the pastorate of Rev. James White. Guest preacher for the occasion will be Rev. M.W. Gresham and the choir and members of Reeves Chapel Baptist Church. The community is invited to attend. Dinner will be served in the church fellowship hall immediately after the service.

New Saints C.M.E. Church will celebrate its annual usher board program on Sunday, November 12, at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Jimmy Curry of Flat Rock C.M.E. Church of Hartwell and J.C. and Hartwell Airs, better known as The House of Prayer. The public is invited. Light refreshments will be served.

The United Methodist Men of First United Methodist Church will hold a barbecue chicken dinner on Saturday, November 11, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. At $8 per plate proceeds will go to church projects. Eat in or carry out.

The Spirited Speakers Toastmaster Club of Wilkes and Lincoln Counties will meet November 16, 30, December 7, and 21. If you are at least 18 years of age and desire to improve your communication and leadership skills, you are invited to attend. Meetings are held on each first, third, and fifth Thursday at the Lincoln County Library, 181 N. Peachtree Street, in Lincolnton.

The BreasTest and More Program at the Wilkes County Health Department has help to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40-64 years of age, have no health insurance, and meet certain financial requirements. Call the Wilkes County Health Department at 706-678-2622 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
