Our little witches had a ball Trickor Treating in Washington Tuesday night. We visited several houses before ending the evening at Trunks of Treats at the First Baptist Church. Following our Trick-or-Treating, we ate dinner with Liz Spooner at her home (Taco Tuesday!) Trent, Mary Kate, and Jed Dauler of Woodville also came over for tacos. All of the children were excited to be together in their costumes with full buckets of candy!

. Rylee and Raegan Dobbs went to the Trunks of Treats at FBC on Tuesday with their parents, Josh and Hollie Dobbs. Rylee dressed as Batgirl and Raegan dressed as Tinkerbell.

. J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright joined Martha Jones and James and Sharon Smith for dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Athens on Wednesday, November 1.

. Maebrynn, Kellbry, and I visited with Greg and Madeline Callaway at their new home in the Tyrone area on Saturday, November 4. We also watched the second quarter of the Georgia football game at GiGi’s joint (Liz Spooner). Maebrynn was thrilled to find that Elizabeth Hammond of Thomson was visiting there as well!

. Tom and Gloria Wheatley attended Paw-ty for the Animals in Grovetown on Saturday November 4. The Pawprints Foundation of Columbia County supports homeless, no-kill rescue missions and accepts donations year-round for the CSRA at Animal House, Grovetown Farm and Garden, Martinez Animal Hospital, National Hills Animal Hospital, Suggs Kennels, Vineyard Wine Market, and Wild Birds Unlimited. Local group Washington Wilkes DAWGS also benefits from Pawprints Foundation.

. Rylee Dobbs, daughter of Julie Dobbs and Josh and Hollie Dobbs, celebrated her sixth birthday with a small party at D&D Taxidermy in Washington on Saturday, November 4. Children enjoyed a Veterinary Clinic themed party where they got to “adopt” puppies and give them vet checkups.

. J.W. Boatwright visited Johnny Boatwright on Sunday, November 5, as well as Kay Berry.

. Sardis Baptist Church is in full swing for Christmas Play practice for any children in the community who would like to participate. Practices are held during Children’s Church on Sunday mornings. The church is holding the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Dedication on Sunday, November 12. Free shoeboxes are available through the church. Rev. Chris Townsend is now leading a great young adult Sunday school class, and Jazzy Fry has stepped in as the younger preschool teacher so parents may attend Rev. Townsend’s class. Now is a great time to get involved at Sardis Baptist Church!
