Living life with faith in Jesus

(Hebrews 13:1-25)

In the last chapter of Hebrews, chapter 13, we are shown how important brotherly love is in the lives of mankind.

How do we come to get this brotherly love? It comes from God our creator. “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Through faith and acceptance of Jesus as our Saviour, we come to know brotherly love, a gift from God, through Jesus to us by this faith in Him.

Chapter 13 of Hebrews begins with, “Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” (verses 1 and 2)

How do we show this brotherly love we receive from Jesus? Hebrews 13 says, “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in body.” (verse 3)

Also it says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (verse 5)

Because of this kind of relationship with Jesus, we can boldly say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (verse 6) Because we know that God’s Son, Jesus Christ, is the same yesterday and today, and forever.” (verse 8)

“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.” (verse 9) Let us live our lives on earth with our God-given faith through Jesus, our Lord and Saviour of our lives.

Let us be sure to finish our lives with our God-given faith in Jesus as our master and Lord of our physical and spiritual lives, made possible by being born again because we confessed our sins, repented, and accepted Jesus Christ, God’s only Son to be our Saviour. This has been made possible for us because God sent to us His Holy Spirit after Jesus died on the Cross. God’s Holy Spirit came to our earth and introduced us to our belief in Jesus, and we are born again as a child of God liken unto Jesus. “Grace be with you all. Amen.” (verse 25)
