The new hours for the Stephen’s House Food Pantry are from 9 a.m.-noon on the third Saturday of each month.

The Spirited Speakers Toastmaster Club of Wilkes and Lincoln Counties will meet November 30, December 7, and 21. If you are at least 18 years of age and desire to improve your communication and leadership skills, you are invited to attend. Meetings are held on each first, third, and fifth Thursday at the Lincoln County Library, 181 N. Peachtree Street, in Lincolnton.

The Episcopal Church of the Mediator will host its annual Bazaar and Luncheon in the Parish House on December 2. The Country Kitchen will open at 10:30 a.m., with lunch following at 11:30.

The Tignall City Council will meet at City Hall in Tignall on Wednesday, December 13, at 7 p.m.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rayle will celebrate Family and Friends Day Sunday, December 3, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Ben K. Willis delivering the message. The public is invited.

The next New Saints “Safety Net Advisory Program” (SNAP) meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, at 11 a.m., at Pizza Hut.

The choirs of Flint Hill, Shady Grove, Lyonsville, and Tates Grove will have an appreciation for Robert Maddox on Sunday, December 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Flint Hill Baptist Church. Dinner will be served.

The Wilkes County Board of Commissioners will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, at the ¬≠Wilkes County courthouse. A work session in the chairman’s office will be held immediately prior beginning at 1 p.m.

The BreasTest and More Program at the Wilkes County Health Department has help to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40-64 years of age, have no health insurance, and meet certain financial requirements. Call the Wilkes County Health Department at 706-678-2622 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
