Making way for new beauty

The demolition of sidewalks and other paving on the south side of West Robert Toombs Avenue is almost complete in the first phase of a beautification project that will boast of new paving and entryways, planters and trees, and brick pavers all the way from Pope Street to Allison Street. Above, Public Works Director Bobby Mills personally handles the breaking up of the sidewalk in front of The News-Reporter building. But don’t worry, even though the usual “out front” paper box may not be accessible in its usual location for a while, you can still get a paper on the Pope Street side of the building or at many other locations in town.
