Emmett Alfred Taylor

Memorial Services for Emmett Alfred “Mickey” Taylor, 53, of Union Point, Georgia, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church (North Campus) in Greensboro with Rev. Hugh Hendrickson officiating. Interment followed at Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point. He died Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

Mr. Taylor was born in Greensboro, Georgia, on July 15, 1964. He was the son of Dianne Miller Gibson of Union Point, and the late Emmett Moore Taylor. He attended Washington Wilkes High School. Mickey was a heavy equipment operator working for both Strother Logging and Davis Logging in Washington. He had a love for antiquing, and also enjoyed tinkering, and he was a great mechanic. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Union Point.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Dianne and Harold Gibson of Union Point; a daughter, Taylor Farmer of Crawfordville; four grandchildren, Bryson Lee Taylor, Gracee Greeson, Sarah Bell Greeson, and Brynleigh Graves; four brothers, Timothy Moore Taylor (Tiffany) of Gainesville, Georgia; Scott Gibson (Star) of Lithia Springs, Georgia; Mike Gibson

(Melissa) of Roswell, Georgia; Leonard Gibson (Tonya) of Union Point; a sister, Denise Collins (Reed) of Canton, N.C.; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Emmett Moore Taylor and his son, Emmett Moore “Mitch” Taylor.
