Mahlory Wood guest of honor at baby shower November 12

Mahlory Waller Wood was honored at a baby shower given by Paula Stevens and Alicia Madden on Sunday, November 12, in the Mary Burton Callaway Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wood was presented a corsage created from a pale pink and pearl hair bow with ribbon accents.

The fellowship hall was decorated in jewel tones with pink tablecloths.

As guests arrived, in lieu of signing a register they were invited to write parenting advice on baby item cutouts which were then hung on a satin ribbon “clothesline.” A dainty white tree enhanced with pearls and topped with a sparking adornment was nestled in pink at one corner of the register table. Also decorating the table was a pink painted canvas in a setting of pearls that featured “Bows and Bling and Sparkly Things - That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of.”

The refreshment table held bouquets of roses and gypsophila and scripture canvases. From this table guests enjoyed hot ham and cheese sliders, pumpkin mousse and gingersnaps, a vegetable platter, baby Gerkins, Key lime cake, miniature strawberry cupcakes, and fruit punch.

Other scripture canvases decorated the gift table which also featured pink accents.

Tables for guest seating were also finished with burlap runners and bouquets of delicate gypsophila.

Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs. Wood’s grandmother, Waistel Thigpen, aunt, Belenda Wilkerson, and cousins, Amy Williams and Witten Williams, of Thomson.
