Cagers slow to start winning but boys rally to beat Harlem

In three dates of basketball action during the past week, the W-W Tiger boys basketball team dropped the first two games but then rebounded to close out the weekend with a win. Against Thomson, the boys struggled to a 50-70 loss but Jaylen Dunn earned a double-double with a dozen points and 20 rebounds. On Friday at McCormick, the Tigers fared a little better but still came up short against the Chiefs 37-48. Player of the Week Raekwon Binns (showing off an impressive slam dunk above) was the team leader with 10 points and also hauled in 13 rebounds.

Finally, at Harlem, the boys came back led by George Anderson with 27 points. The Tigers cruised to an easy win (77-60) in the contest.

In girls basketball action, the ladies held their own against Thomson but came up short 45-56. Zanila Booker (above, left) led the team with 10 points. At McCormick, W-W was just barely short as the Lady Tigers lost to the Lady Chiefs 46-49.
