Chesnut, Granade honored by W-WSAR

At the Christmas meeting of the Washington-Wilkes Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, Linda Chesnut (left) and Janet Granade (right) were recognized by president Lou Harris for their service to the chapter during the year.

Chesnut received the Lydia Darragh award (bronze with oak leaf cluster), and Granade received the Martha Washington medal.

Darragh was said to have crossed British lines during the British occupation of Philadelphia during the American Revolutionary War, delivering information to George Washington and the Continental Army that warned them of a pending British attack.
