Jackson will seek re-election to county commission seat

JACKSON JACKSON First to qualify for re-election during qualifying week is Charles Jackson, incumbent Wilkes County Commissioner for District 3. Jackson has announced his candidacy for re-election with the following statement.

“I have been very proud and humbled to have served as Wilkes County Commissioner for the past four years representing District 3. I have done my very best to represent my district with dignity and professionalism. My hope is to be your representative for the next four years. I have tried to involve myself by being available to you when needed, and to listen to all of the citizens that I represent and to those who live outside of my district.

“I will always be fiscally responsible with your tax dollars, but mindful of the many needs that our county needs to prosper. During the past four years I have been able to acquire a better understanding of the many requirements and needs of our area and I have been determined to learn how best to achieve the results needed to make our city and county a better place to live and work.

“I will never have all the answers to every situation, but I will work with you, and use the tools that I have available to resolve any issues that you may have.

“My greatest hope is that we can all make our city and county a great place to live, with all citizens participating in a concerted effort toward common goals that we can all be proud of.

“Our citizens are better served when our governing bodies are efficient and effective, and to that end I will promise to serve this city and county with the distinction that is deserved.”
