Henry C. Sandifer Jr.

Graveside services for Henry C. Sandifer Jr., 79, a native of Lincolnton and resident of Washington, were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Washington-­Wilkes Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rob Cohen officiating. He died Friday, March 2, 2018, at PruittHealth Washington.

Mr. Sandifer, son of the late Henry C. Sandifer and Mazie Ellison Holloway, was born in McCormick, S.C., graduated from Lincolnton High School and lived in Washington most of his life. He worked for Coca Cola in Thomson, Washington, and Augusta for 18 years as a route supervisor until 1978. Afterwards, he was employed by International Paper in Washington as a shipping clerk. He was a member of Pine Point Camping Club and attended Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Gunter Sandifer; a daughter, Dianne S. Moore and husband, Tracy; a son, Gene Sandifer and wife, Florence, all of Washington; a sister, Irma S. Sikes and husband, Rifo of N. Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren Karmen Moon and husband, John, Brad Sandifer, and wife, Amanda, Douglas Pullen and wife, Natalie, and Caylor Sandifer; great-grandchildren Samuel Moon, Hannah Grace Moon, Charlie Mae Moon, Lilly Katherine Moon, Talon Pullen, Tinsley Pullen, Carter Pullen, Whit Sandifer, and Wes Sandifer.

Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
