Heard’s Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its deacons anniversary at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, with guest speaker Rev. Joseph Hurley, pastor of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church of Union Point.

The annual Sharon Shenanigans Community Fair will be held at the Sharon/Raytown Community House at 402 Raytown Road in Sharon on April 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Plans include live entertainment, tours, kids activities, music, food sales, and vendors throughout the day. Local artisans will present antiques, art, jewelry, hand-made crafts including crochet items, woodcrafts, and more. Also available will be freshly ground grits, jams, jellies, honey, plants, and commemorative T-shirts.

The BreasTest and More Program at the Wilkes County Health Department has help to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40-64 years of age, have no health insurance, and meet certain financial requirements.
