Reynold Circle meets in fellowship hall of Presbyterian Church

The Reynolds Circle of Washington Presbyterian Church Women met on Tuesday afternoon, May 1, in the fellowship hall of the church.

Becky Slaton, hostess, offered refreshments of mini pecan tarts and cheesy pecan wafers with tea, coffee or water. Cheryl Young, moderator, served in the absence of Mrs. Slaton who was unable to attend due to illness in her family.

Mrs. Young opened the meeting and welcomed members. She also gave the devotional entitled “The Massive Maple Tree” and led in opening prayer.

Nita Latimer reported on possibilities for next year’s Bible study.

Those with special concerns and joys were remembered.

Upcoming events included Pentecost Sunday on May 20 and members were encouraged to wear red; the Ladies Lunch Bunch will meet May 20 at Wings and Things; and Vacation Bible School is June 24-29.

Nita Latimer led the discussion of “Lesson 11: ‘The Tower of Babel’” using scripture, Genesis 11:1-8.

Present for the meeting were Nita Latimer, Norwood Strother, Anne Wheeler, and Cheryl Young.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 4, in the fellowship hall.
