Local arrests during the past month see charges of gang activity, burglary

Drug charges, criminal gang activity, assault, and burglary, were among the more serious charges filed in arrests made in Wilkes County during May and late April. The listed arrests are taken from the limited information in arrest reports provided by local law enforcement officials, and no arrests are left out. An arrest does not imply guilt; criminal charges are merely accusations and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty and convicted. Bond and/or release notes contained in this report are as of May 28, 2018.

Charles Dean Ware, 54, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Gaddy on May 2 and charged with possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. in violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCS); possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine; possession of tools for the commission of crime; possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. VGCS; possession with intent to distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance; and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance. Bond was set at $100,000. No release was noted.

Jarius Trevon Ferrell, 20, of Washington was arrested by ­Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on May 22 and charged with participation in criminal gang activity, armed robbery, intimidation, taking control of substance, and aggravated assault. He was released on $35,200 bond.

Patricia Ann Wynn, 65, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Gene Amos on May 4 and charged with aggravated assault. Bond was set at $20,000. No release was noted.

Christina Rainesha Hodges, 30, of Washington was arrested by ­Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Bud Harrison on May 21 and charged with burglary. She was released on $15,200 bond.

Tavaris Joquez Ramsey, 18, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Land on May 1 and charged with influencing witnesses. No bond or release was noted.

Curtis Demarcus Milton, 36, of Washington was arrested by ­Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Darracott on April 27 and charged with battery and interference with a 911 call. He was released on $8,500 bond.

Gary Wendell Gresham, 64, of Washington was arrested by ­Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Keith Lyons on April 30 and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. He was released on $1,700 bond.

Kevin Jackson Sims, 32, of Thomson was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper H. Lewis on May 6 and charged with driving under the influence and speeding 26-30 miles per hour over the posted limit. He was released but no bond was noted.

Bobby James Mills, 63, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper H. Lewis on May 6 and charged with driving under the influence and littering the highway. He was released but no bond was noted.

William Spencer Etheredge, 23, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Will Grier on April 26 and charged with driving while license is withdrawn, failure to stop for a stop sign, and a violation of the child restraint seat belt law. He was released on $1,005 bond.

Corey R. Grant, 29, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Keith Lyons on April 27 and charged with driving without a license. He was released on $1,000 bond.

Michael Bernard Crane, 42, of Washington was arrested by ­Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Brown on April 28 and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on $400 bond.

Willie Demones Turner, 40, of Rayle was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on April 28 and charged with a probation violation. No release was noted.

Lem Melvin Dove, 67, of Tignall was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Scott Langham on May 1 and charged with driving under the influence and speeding in excess of maximum limits. He was released on $814 bond.

Rhonda Lavonne Dye, 46, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on May 2 and charged with battery. She was released on $3,700 bond.

Jarvis Lamont Banks, 39, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Scott Langham on May 14 and charged with driving under the influence and speeding 26-30 miles per hour over the posted limit. He was released on $814 bond.

Robert Vernon Hammond, 58, of Washington was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Will Grier on May 14 and charged with driving under the influence. He was released on $814 bond.

Justin J. Williams, 24, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Edwards on May12 and charged with battery and aggravated assault. He was released but no bond was noted.

Ridge Lee Moore, 22, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Bud Harrison on May 11 and charged with aggravated assault; possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. in violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act; drugs to be kept in original container; and Schedule III. No release was noted.

Giancarlo Arcesi, 34, of Kennesaw, Georgia, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper W.M. Callaway on May 12 and charged with speeding 26-30 miles per hour over the posted limit. He was transferred on $195 bond.

Hollie Amber Etheredge, 21, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Land Jr. on May 9 and charged with criminal damage to property in the second degree, family violence. She was released on $5,000 bond.

Damion James Callaway, 23, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Land Jr. on May 9 and charged with criminal damage to property in the second degree, family violence. He was released on $5,200 bond.

Kevin Lee Guin, 49, of Tignall was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Edwards on May 21 and charged with two counts of theft by taking. Bond was set at $7,000. No release was noted.

Caleb Shane Broome, 21, of Washington was arrested by ­Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on May 21 and charged with burglary. Bond was set at 10,000. No release was noted.

Wayland Braxton Willis, 21, of Grovetown, Georgia, was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Turner on May 18, and charged with a probation violation. No release was noted.

Mohamed Mustafa Haji, 24, of Clarkston, Georgia, was arrested by Georgia State Patrol Trooper W.M. Callaway on May 17 and charged with driving while license is withdrawn and speeding 20-25 miles per hour over the posted limit. He was released on $1,840 bond.

Barry Chapman, 56, of Washington was arrested by Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Posey on May 26 and held for Oglethorpe County. He was later transferred.
