New sousaphone will shine at games, parades



Morgan Dodson shows off the new sousaphone purchased by the W-WCHS Tiger Band to replace one that is more than 20 years old. The sousaphone was purchased with donations from F&M Bank, Farmers State Bank, and the Washington-Wilkes Foundation for the Arts. “‘Thank you’ doesn’t completely express our gratitude for their generosity and how quickly they responded to our need,” W-W Band Boosters Treasurer Kat Dodson said. “This new sousaphone will be played at the football games, parades, and will help us look and sound great when we compete at state competitions.
