Gloria Rhodes has returned home after a nearly two-month visit with her daughter and family, Elisha, Bill, and Ladd Delaney, in Franklin, Tennessee. While there, she, daughter, and grandson, engaged in many delightful activities in the Franklin and Nashville areas. They observed Ladd during his gymnastic and tennis lessons, accompanied him to Vacation Bible School at Holy Family Catholic Church, to art camp where he produced many “masterpieces,” and to a week-long day camp which featured the PJ Mask Super-Hero theme. While in Nashville they toured the Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline Museums at The Hall of Fame and later viewed the Rolling Stones Exhibit, a temporary attraction at the Musicians Hall of Fame. Ladd enjoyed the interactive musician’s gallery complete with instruments, headphones, and microphones. Lunch at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Nashville on Lower Broadway, a live music venue inspired by Shelton’s Number One hit “Ol’ Red,” was another highlight. l

Enjoying a long weekend visit with Diana Blackburn prior to the Fourth of July holiday were Preston Blackburn and Liza Blackburn of Richmond, Virginia. l

Lynn Welsh of Morganton, N.C., visited during the holiday week with her mother, Rosalyn Adams. l

Vicki and John Rodrigues of Watkinsville visited July 4 with her parents, Elizabeth and Beetle Denard. l

Katherine, John, Anna, and Caroline Gentry of Athens visited on Saturday before the holiday week with Susan and Edward Pope Jr. Anna returned on Monday for a visit with her grandparents. l

Ann and Lewis Cook accompanied their daughter, Sandra Standard, to Atlantic Beach, Florida, for a visit with Susan and John Whittingslow. While there they joined in celebrating the Cook’s great-grandson, Ayden Eagle’s fourth birthday. l

Visiting during the holiday week with Randee and Jim Barry were Allison, Ricky, Hampton, and Rosemary Sapp of Atlanta and Jeannie, Chris, Kevin, and Patrick Barry of Marietta l

Joining Rachel and Jerrel Pharr for the Fourth of July Concert at the First United Methodist Church and the fireworks later that Tuesday evening were Kathy, Jerry, Andrew, and Joshua Pharr of Winder. l

Gloria Rhodes enjoyed a visit prior to July 4 from her daughter and grandson, Elisha and Ladd Delaney of Franklin, Tennessee. While here they all attended a family reunion in Sandy Cross. Later in the afternoon they joined friends at Lake Oconee for boating and riding the wave runner. The next day they took Ladd to The Landing at Reynolds Plantation for an afternoon of swimming at the pool. The following day the Delaneys returned to their home at Clover Croft Manor in Franklin. l

Lynda and Cliff Hopkins of Hilton Head, S.C., and Jason Hopkins of Simpsonville, S.C., enjoyed a weekend visit with Norma Hopkins. l

Angela Waters of Fresno, Texas, spent two weeks with her parents, Emilie and Mark Waters, returning home on July 5. While in Washington Angela’s daughters, Kayla Abadie of Raleigh, N.C., joined the family for a couple of days and Megan Abadie of Wilmington, N.C., visited a week with her mother and grandparents. The “girls” enjoyed shopping in Washington and a trip to Greensboro. They also enjoyed other festivities surrounding the Fourth of July events that included a larger family gathering on July 4. Other guests during this time were Lynda and Johnny Gresham of Marietta. Arriving later on July 5 were the Waters’ daughter and family, Laurie, Mark, and Chloe Seymour of Apex, N.C. The Seymours stayed until July 8 and were present to celebrate Mrs. Waters’ birthday on July 7 where they were joined by Lynda Gresham who honored her sister with a delicious birthday cake. l

Becky Chandler of Winterville and Peggy Pellegrini of Athens visited Friday with Jane Burton. The ladies enjoyed lunch and shopping in Washington during the visit. l

Visiting Gayla and Walt Brown during the Fourth of July holiday week were their sons and families, Beau and Alison Brown, Caroline and Maelyn of Newnan, Thad and Natalie Brown, Tyden and Nyia, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Tory and Brileigh Brown of Katy, Texas. l

Donna Edwards accompanied her parents, Gail and Gene Lindsey, to Loreley Resort in Helen several days during the holidays. l

Visiting during the holiday weekend with Shirley and Boots Gunter were Allison and Bill Hale of Athens and Alicia, Cread, Luke, and Porter Brown of Clermont. l

Barbara and Virgil Wolter enjoyed a holiday visit July 4-5 with the Kim Moss family at their lake house on Lake Harding in Valley, Alabama. l

Doug Gale and friend Cindy and his grandchildren, Hyatt and Blakely Whisnant, of Lexington, S.C., visited Monday with his mother, Jackie Gale, and celebrated her 92nd birthday which was the following day.
