Reese wins, breaks tournament record

Repeat champion Dalton Reese eclipsed the field with a stellar performance setting a new tournament record in last weekend’s Amos Martin Invitational at the Washington-Wilkes Country Club. A full nine strokes ahead of all others, Reese claimed his second championship with back to back rounds of 67 for a new tournament record of 134, knocking three strokes off the previous record held jointly by Billy Craycraft (1988) and Bryan Barnett (2001). tournament win (2014) he clipped the streak of local sensation Graham again this year with a 143.

Third place this year went to Lucus Hopkins (145) and Henry Darby captured fourth at 147.

“We had a great tournament this year,” organizer Hugh Hopkins reported. “The weather was good all weekend.”
