Last chance for hilarity is this weekend as ‘Mama Won’t Fly’ ends summer run

As the name implies, “Mama Won’t Fly,” so that means a loooooong driving adventure from Alabama to California, with much mayhem along the way. Pictured (l-r) are Libby Foster, who plays Norleen Sprunt – the non-flying mama, April Morrison, who plays her daughter, and LaVonda Tanner who plays a lush they encounter on their journey. The last two performances of Washington Little Theater’s side-splitting comedy “Mama Won’t Fly” will take place this Friday and Saturday, August 10-11, at 7:30 p.m. The play stars WLT veterans April Morrison, Libby Foster, and newcomer LeighAnna Harper, with a host of other oddball characters.

“We’ve had so much fun during rehearsals it’s been hard to stay on script!” said Tonya Harper, who is directing the play. Part of the fun includes seeing cast member Sherri Bowers as an elderly bra model and watching Paula Stevens strut her stuff as a showgirl/preacher.
