Defense struggles as ladies lose opener to Thomson



The W-W Lady Tiger softball team lost their season opener to Thomson 7-2 after holding on until the very end. After giving up two runs in the first inning, the Tigers tied the game in the fourth at 2-2. The game remained tied going into the top of the seventh inning when the Tigers defense struggled committing three errors allowing five unearned runs in the inning. Samantha Wheatley (above) pitched a complete game allowing only one earned run. Collecting hits for the Tigers were Tamara McAvoy, Alaina Callaway, Maura Jackson, and Samantha Wheatley.
