John continues visit into heaven

(Revelation 5:11-14)

In Revelation 5:11, John lets us know what he sees and experiences in his visit to Heaven. “And I beheld, and heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders.” (verse 11a)

Present with John on that day was all of God’s creation who lived on earth and in Heaven. The endtime will be the greatest moment ever for all of God’s creation who come to believe and accept Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, as Saviour of our souls.

John says the number of those present on that day will be impossible to number. “And the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.” (verse 11b) John is saying to us that this is what Heaven will be like when we meet our Saviour.

Then John tells us what they will be proclaiming, “saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” (verse 12)

The moment we hear John describing to us will be greater than any moment in the past, because it will be the celebration of all believers in Jesus as God’s Saviour of the whole world of believers through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.

John says, “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard praying, blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” (verse 13)

John’s address includes all of God’s creation and God Himself and Jesus our Saviour with the power of God’s Holy Spirit within John.

Jesus gives to John this opportunity there on the Island of Patmos to be in the Spirit and ascend into Heaven, and see all of this, and then be able through God’s Holy Spirit to tell us all about this most wonderful future God is preparing for all of us as believers in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, our eternal Saviour of our soul in Heaven with God, because we repented of our sins and accepted Jesus to be our Saviour.

John closes this fifth chapter with these words. This life with our Saviour Jesus Christ has its beginning on earth where Jesus came to give His life for us on the Cross, and closes in Heaven where all believers worship. “And the four beasts said amen, and the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.” (verse 14)
