W-WCHS Homecoming Parade and bonfire slated for October 11

The Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Student Council has announced that the 2018 Tiger Homecoming Parade will be held on Thursday, October 11, and the community is invited “to show its Tiger Pride” as it moves through town.

The parade will start at the W-W Parks and Recreation Department (W-WPRD) and The Pope Center at 6 p.m. and end at Tiger Stadium. Festivities will continue at the stadium and end with a community-wide bonfire pep rally at about 7:30 p.m. The 2018 Homecoming King will be crowned at the bonfire.

All participants in the parade associated with W-WPRD will line up behind the center. Drop-offs for W-WPRD should occur at the center. All other drop-offs will be handled in The Pope Center parking lot.

This year’s Homecoming Court will feature two girls from each of the ninth, 10th, and 11th grades as well as four 12th-grade young ladies who best embody everything that makes W-WCHS an exceptional school.

Any community groups interested in being a part of the Homecoming Parade can pick up entry forms from the W-WCHS office or retrieve them from the website. All forms must be returned to the school office by October 4.
