No one hurt in curb-jumping crash

There were no injuries, only property damage Monday when this small SUV, driven by an older lady, jumped the curb in downtown Washington and smashed through some of the front windows of Young’s Fashions on the east side of The Square. Apparently the driver pushed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal when preparing to park. The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, Wilkes County EMS, and the Georgia State Patrol responded. By mid-afternoon, McDuffie Mirror and Glass was on the scene to replace the broken windows.
