Enjoying being active in activity

Washington-Wilkes Primary School teachers, parents, and students enjoyed “Being Active in Activity” during the November PTG meeting. Groups rotated through the four daily activity classes scheduled at W-WPS including art with Leigh Hearn, media with April Guin and Mary Wylie, guidance with Tiffany Atkins, and physical education with Terri Hammond. The event encouraged parents, teachers, and students to build communication skills and establish relationships through interaction while completing leaf rubbings, playing various gym games, learning about the importance of making good decisions, and exploring STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) projects. Above, (l-r) first graders Braiden Walker and Cameryn Raven and Pre-K student Jaxson Raven explore a STEM activity in the media center.
