The revelation to John continues

(Revelation 12:1-6)

As we move into chapter 12 of The Revelation to John, we see a vision in heaven, given to John, where God gives Israel another chance to get it right in their relationship, with God saving mankind from sin through God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

Up until this moment in time, Irsael has not yet chosen to believe in Jesus Christ as God’s Son, the Saviour of the world. Some Jewish people have come to believe in Jesus as their Saviour as individuals liken unto the Gentile world, but not as God’s first chosen people as a nation, coming out of the Old Testament days, before Jesus’ birth into the world.

When the Old Testament days came to an end in Malachi, the last book in the Old Testament, we saw Israel coming to a dead end in their lives as a nation.

Malachi four, verse one says, “For behold the day cometh that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” We have seen this happen to Israel in the New Testament.

Verses five and six of Malachi say, “Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

We have been seeing this happen on Earth to Israel ever since Jesus was born and died and resurrected from the grave back into Heaven. God is still waiting for Israel to accept Jesus as Saviour of the world, including them and the Gentile world.

We see the prophecy of this happening in this 12th chapter of The Revelation “And there appeared another wonder in Heaven, and behold a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads…stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered…and she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron and her child was caught up unto God and to His throne.” (verses 3-5) This is when Israel will come to accept and believe in Jesus as Saviour.
